In this course, you will explore the fundamentals of basic Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology. After completing this course, you will be able to identify typical optical components and define their applicability to DWDM solution requirements. You will also be able to describe the transmission concerns and performance-limiting effects associated with DWDM, including dispersion and optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR). You will also describe the function and application of optical switching, amplification, and regeneration as they impact optical systems design in order to select appropriate products to meet customer business needs. |
